Booksweet in Ann Arbor is up for sale as owners look to change hands [Video]

ANN ARBOR, MI – Booksweet is for sale as its owners search for someone new to continue its legacy in Ann Arbor.

Owners Shaun Manning and Truly Render shared in a social media post on Wednesday, May 1, that they are selling the indie bookshop at 1729 Plymouth Road to someone who is interested in a turnkey or full asset purchase of the business.

“This is not a decision we’ve taken lightly,” the post stated. “Booksweet is so much more than a shop.”

The bookshop owners noted personal reasons were behind the decision to end their time with Booksweet. Manning had no further comment to add when MLive/The Ann Arbor News reached out.

“As many of you have likely experienced at some point in your lives, sometimes the needs of your family evolve in ways that don’t quite fit your career,” the post stated. “We love the shop deeply and we love our family even more. In fact, we love it all so much that we know when it’s time to pass the torch.”
