West Louisville is getting a new JCPS middle school; What we know [Video]

Molina Healthcare owns the vacant lot at 18th Street and Broadway. The steel beams at the building have sat untouched for years after a plan for a Passport headquarters fell apart.

“You know, it was going to be a Walmart and then it was going to be a healthcare facility, but this time it an educational campus,” Jackie Floyd, Russell neighborhood community leader, said.

WHAS11 asked JCPS Superintendent Marty Pollio what we should expected and though he didn’t give us a definitive answer, he said he’s excited for the unveiling of a new school.

Nearly two years ago, Pollio shared that the district was talking with Molina Healthcare about a new middle school in west Louisville.

Floyd is enthused about the investment.
