Warning from feds: Dont cash that check [Video]

Scammers are always trying to find ways to separate you from your money and the latest scheme has federal officials issuing a strong warning: Don’t cash that check.

The warning comes after another social media scam is making the rounds. This one involves “artists” contacting people via social media and asking permission to paint a photo from their page. It’s more than just that though – they want to pay you thousands for the rights to use it.

The “artist” will send you the check and ask you to deposit it and then send them some of the money back for art supplies. The remainder is yours to keep and, in some cases, they even promise to send you money back for the supplies once the artwork is sold.
