Vermont Gov. Phil Scott vetoes consumer protection bill and Act 250 bill [Video]

On Thursday, Gov. Phil Scott handed out his last few decisions on bills passed by lawmakers, including a couple of vetoes. One of those is a consumer protections bill aimed at helping protect Vermonters’ private data when online. Scott’s main issue with the bill is how it would affect small and mid-size businesses. In his veto letter, he, in part, said, “The bill’s complexity and unique expansive definitions and provisions create big and expensive new burdens and competitive disadvantages for the small and mid-sized businesses Vermont communities rely on.
