Urban Institute offers up report card on network of Cleveland nonprofits that serve small businesses [Video]

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Cleveland has a strong network of nonprofit organizations that serve small businesses, but there is room to strengthen the city’s ecosystem of government, philanthropies and business service organizations, the Urban Institute said in a new report.

The Washington, D.C.-based institute said it conducted nearly four dozen interviews with leaders from local government, business support organizations (BSOs), philanthropic organizations, chambers of commerce, lenders and small-business owners to write its report, Supporting Small Businesses in the City of Cleveland.

The Urban Institute, which is dedicated to elevating the debate on social and economic policy, also did a quantitative analysis of small-business investment in Cleveland.
