Trump likely to grant TikTok 90-day extension to avoid ban in the US [Video]

In an interview with ABC News’ Rachel Scott on Saturday ahead of his inauguration, President-elect Donald Trump weighed in on the future of social media company TikTok.

When asked what action his administration could take on TikTok, he said, “Well, I have the right as you know, I’m the one who is going to be calling the shots. Most likely, I’ll extend for 90 days. You have the extension for 90 days as you probably know. I’ll do that until we figure something out.”

This comes after TikTok announced Sunday that it will be “forced to go dark” unless the White House gives a “definitive” statement about its future.

The announcement came after the Supreme Court earlier in the day upheld a law set to ban TikTok unless the platform severs ties with China-based parent company ByteDance by Sunday.
