Hundreds of thousands of people across the metro are still in the dark after a storm swept through on Monday night.
MINNEAPOLIS — On Tuesday morning, thousands were still cleaning up downed trees and powerlines after strong storms swept through the metro.
As of 8:30 a.m., Xcel Energy reported more than 140,000 people were still without power. According to social media accounts, everyone should have their power restored by the end of the day on Thursday at the latest.

On Monday night, thousands took shelter at the Minnesota State Fair while more than 90,000 people across the Twin Cities were left without power at one point after a severe storm swept through the metro Monday evening.
