In this general introduction to the corporate life cycle, I explain what the corporate life cycle is, in terms of phases, and why it matters, by looking at how the focus for a business changes through the life cycle (corporate finance), how valuing and pricing it shifts as companies age (in valuation) and its tie to different investment philosophies. While the session provides the core ideas on the corporate life cycle, you can dig deeper (if you are interested and have the time) by either taking the class (with twenty sessions) that follows on this playlist, or by reading the book.
