Owen Cullen, managing director of Cullen Communications, sees a lot of his own experience in the ethos around sustainability, having taken the helm at the PR and marketing agency his father Frank founded nearly 40 years ago.
Just like Cullen Communications transitioned “from one generation to another,” prioritising sustainability is “about existing generations looking after the world for future generations to enjoy as well.”
Cullen himself started taking sustainability especially seriously during the pandemic when business had slowed down a bit, giving him time to reflect on things, specifically a presentation given by Mark Paterson of Currie Communications, Cullen’s partner in Australia.
“He was all talking around sustainability and finding purpose within the agency for himself, his own personal experience, and becoming one of the first B Corps in Australia,” said Cullen.
