Supreme Court immunity ruling set to delay Trumps criminal trials [Video]

The Alaska Supreme Court has unanimously reversed a Superior Court ruling that had struck down Alaska’s correspondence school statutes as unconstitutional, restoring the program as it has existed for the last ten years.

When Anchorage’s Midtown Transfer Station moved across the street into a brand new facility, it left behind the old transfer station and administrative offices. Now, both buildings have new functions, the administrative office is a homeless shelter, and the tipping floor of the former transfer station has become a place to drop off organic material.

The Supreme Court cleared the way Friday for cities to enforce bans on homeless people sleeping outside in public places, overturning a California appeals court ruling that found such laws amount to cruel and unusual punishment when shelter space is lacking. In Anchorage it has been used as a reason why large, often dangerous, homeless camps have been allowed to thrive.
