PIPER, Kan. (KCTV) – Students at Piper High School are putting the finishing touches on their newest venture, a student-run apparel and coffee shop.
The Piper School District says that at noon on Friday, Sept. 27, Pirates Bay – the school’s newest addition – will welcome its first guests with a ribbon cutting and soft opening. The unique venture is the culmination of a partnership between students and Thou Mayest Coffee.
School administrators noted that Pirates Bay offers hands-on business management experience for students. It marks a significant milestone as the school works to prepare students for real-world challenges. Students get practical experience in operations, marketing and customer service.
Meanwhile, administrators indicated that Pirates Bay is set for a grand opening on Monday, Sept. 30, when it will open to all students and staff. There are plans to expand during community events and activities in the coming months.
