Owner Nathan Kitner says he’s trying to bring customers over to Instagram with the uncertainty of TikTok.
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — While the future of the popular social media app, TikTok, is uncertain, one new local business in South Knoxville is seeing success from it.
Nathan Kitner recently moved back to Knoxville with a passion for coffee and social media. He started his business, Mia Piccola, as a mobile coffee cart.
“Part of that was just start up cost was a lot more approachable,” Kitner said. “I wasn’t quite sure what area of town was gonna work best, where the most demand was gonna be, and I had a lot of people request for me to be in South Knoxville.”
Kitner documented the journey of his mobile business on TikTok and later moved into a brick and mortar inside Southside Garage on Sevier Avenue.
“I really started making videos and trying to post about the journey,” he said. “And it didn’t really work off the bat necessarily.”
