Risk of flooding, severe weather possible in Vermont, New York [Video]

After a break from this week’s heat wave on Friday, more wet and stormy weather is set to impact our region on Saturday and Sunday, including a widespread low to moderate flood risk.Saturday will start out quiet before the weather becomes active around 8 a.m., with showers moving across the region. Several hours of steady rain are possible midday before conditions turn drier by late afternoon and evening.Then on early Sunday, showers move in overnight, with heavy rain in the morning moving west from New York into Vermont. This period of rain is so far looking fairly harmless, with some rumbles of thunder.However, humidity will increase throughout the morning, with a lunchtime break of sunshine before a line of thunderstorms comes through the region.Areas like Saratoga Springs, Rutland, Middlebury, Montpelier and St. Johnsbury could see severe storms during the afternoon hours.Some of these storms may have spin associated with them. …
