RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) – The Pennington County Commissioners met on Tuesday morning with Pennington County State’s Attorney’s salary on the agenda.
Carol Bancroft, Pennington County Human Resources director, took to the commission to ask for an increased salary for Lara Roetzel.
Bancroft crafted a market analysis which was presented to the commissioners. The analysis showed Roetzel’s current salary of $140,400 and her expected 2025 increase to $142,506 a year.
Bancroft recommended an increased salary for Roetzel to make $148,340, which would be comparable to the Pennington County Sheriff and Coroner, after averaging out salaries from comparable positions in various counties.
Roetzel said she believed her experience should qualify her for a salary higher than both her current wage and the salary suggested by Bancroft.
District Three Commissioner Deb Hadcock disagreed with Roetzel’s statement.
