OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – The grease stain welcomed people who came to look at the Martin Luther King Memorial on the corner of 24th and Lake streets.
LaVonya Goodwin is the President of the North 24th Street Business Improvement District. She said that this was not acceptable.
“We had several citizens come up to us and say this is not safe,” Goodwin said.
Douglas County Sheriff Aaron Hanson knew about the problem, and he knew a couple of guys who own a small business that could make the problem go away.
“We need more folks like that in our community, willing to step up and lend a helping hand, especially before the holidays,” Hanson said. “I think its good to get this cleaned up so it doesn’t become a safety issue over the winter.”
