MOSES LAKE, Wash. – The Moses Lake School District have reportedly been dealing with social media online threats that allegedly target their schools.
These social media posts and threats towards schools are a nationwide problem according to the Grant County Sheriff’s Department.
Typically, the posts are screenshots of social media messages that get shared thousands of times, causing unnecessary fear among students, parents, and teachers.
GCSD said they are now advising people to ‘Report, Don’t Repost’ urging the community to report the threats directly to law enforcement.
Authorities warn of the reposting strategy saying that is typically does more harm than good. They emphasize that while everyone wants to be helpful, reposting or sharing these threats can spread unnecessary alarm and fear.
