Missouri State and Drury student-athletes have a chance at a piece of the NIL money and revenue sharing [Video]

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) — College athletes nationwide see NIL and Revenue deals in the seven figures. They can also explore their name, image, and likeness compensation options.

It may seem that the NIL world and college athletics have only recently emerged, but the process has been ongoing since former UCLA star Ed O’Bannon filed a lawsuit against the NCAA in 2009.

“There are just a lot of moving parts, and we are all just trying to navigate it the best we can. Give the resources that you have,” says Patrick Ransdell, the Athletic Director for Missouri State Athletics.

That lawsuit paved the way for athletes like LSU Gymnast Livy Dunne to make millions from her social media accounts and as a spokesperson for clothing brands.
