TikTok went offline in the United States on Saturday night, leaving creators in limbo and uncertain about what comes next.

The blackout prevented 170 million Americans, including countless businesses and content creators, from accessing one of the most used social media apps in the world to connect with their audience.

Visitors to the app Saturday night and Sunday morning faced a single screen with a message reading: “Sorry, TikTok isn’t available right now. A law banning TikTok has been enacted in the U.S. Unfortunately, that means you can’t use TikTok for now.”

One of those creators was Corey and Stephanie Gibson of Hallsville. The husband and wife started posting catfishing TikTok’s in the summer of 2023. Before they knew it, their page was seen by millions of people. As of Sunday, the pair have more than 51,500 followers on TikTok.

Husband and wife Corey and Stephanie Gibson post videos of them catfishing to their TikTok.
