More than 2 million Stanley cups have been recalled after multiple incidents of burn injuries.
The 2.6 million Stanley cups recalled were reported to have loose tops. When holding hot beverages, the loose tops can fall off and cause significant burns.
“Recalls are nothing new when it comes to containers storing hot food or drinks being faulty, but this is more high profile given the current popularity of Stanley cups,” Alex Beene, a financial literacy instructor at the University of Tennessee at Martin, told Newsweek. “This involves over two million cups which had tops prone to not being secure and that could pose burn risks to those who purchased them.”
