ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – At some local Christmas tree lots, you can find the perfect tree and help fund a local student’s high school or college expenses.
They have been friends since elementary school.
“We have been best friends ever since. We went to college together, roomed together and now, we own a business together,” said Calder Johnson with Trees for Tuition.
The business plan started as a way for Calder and Jack Faught to pay for their tuition but the vision is much bigger than themselves now. The idea? A Christmas tree lot.
“That first year, we sold 30 trees, raised a bit of money for ourselves to go to college and it just kept growing year after year. Now, we have seven locations across Atlanta,” said Johnson.
