A man committed to keeping his late wife’s funds dedicated to their children has been backed on social media.
On Reddit, under the handle /u/Every-Bat9568, the man, who has remarried and is now raising a stepdaughter and a child he had with his new wife, shared his dilemma about keeping his late wife’s money aside for the two children from his previous marriage.
“I lost my late wife when our children were young. She had money that was hers (we had joint and separate finances). Anything that was her separate finances is being saved for our children,” he wrote in the post.

His current wife, however, feels the arrangement is unfair, as inflation and financial strain have made it difficult to provide for all four children—especially when it comes to extracurricular activities.
