Louisiana shoplifter accused in deadly crash has bond set [Video]

A Jefferson Parish serial shoplifting suspect accused of causing a crash that killed two West Jefferson High School students was in court Wednesday, where her bond was set. Joneaka Smooth was identified as the driver of a crash on Interstate 610 that started as a chase in Metairie before crossing parish lines. Smooth was given a $610,000 bond on charges of two counts of manslaughter, one count of negligent injury, hit-and-run and flight from an officer.The crash killed Gisselle Smith and Semaj Morris, both 17-years-old. Just before 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, JPSO deputies were called to a store in Lakeside Mall after a group of women were seen shoplifting merchandise.
