TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – Junior Achievement held a ribbon-cutting celebration on Wednesday morning for a new facility housing two new programs. The two programs are called JA Biz Town and JA Finance Park.
Both programs focus on building financial literacy skills.
Each program has 12 lessons on topics like how to budget, how to choose a career, and how to manage a small business. Lessons are then followed up with immersive learning at the flex facility.
“So, we actually have two rooms here in this facility. The main room [is where] we have taken the old Meadows Elementary Library and have transformed it into a mini-city where students will come, and they’ll learn how different businesses interact to create a thriving community,” said Madeline Plant, District Manager of Wabash Valley JA.
