PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) – Jefferson Elementary Center held two professional development classes Monday morning. One based on a STEM field, the other on the effects of addiction on students.
The first class was based in robotics and coding. This class was led by Program Manager Todd Ensign, who works in the Education Resource Center of NASA’s Kathrine Johnson Independent Verification and Validation Facility.
Ensign brought some of NASA’s Lego Robotics Platform kits to help teach young learners about coding and other science topics.
According to Ensign, NASA also has kits on topics from rocketry, planetariums and soil analysis. Ensign also adds why NASA does these programs here in West Virginia.
