CORINNA — The Town of Corinna’s Fire Department is entering a new chapter, and their brand new fire station reflects it. The department, which serves the towns of Corinna and Exeter, celebrated the new building with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

“I’ve worked really hard to secure more than 1.7 million dollars toward this new fire station….and it’s so exciting to see the results of all of the efforts of the townspeople, and my efforts in Washington [and the] USDA,” said Senator Susan Collins, who performed the ribbon cutting and received a plaque in the new fire station commemorating her assistance in the project. 

“This is our Community Facilities Program at work, we actually fund essential community infrastructure throughout the state of Maine in rural communities,” shared Rhiannon Hampson, Maine State Director for USDA Rural Development. “So our role is, once those funds are appropriated, my loan specialists and my team start moving everyone …
