Improvements coming to the Ross R Barnett Reservoir [Video]

RIDGELAND, Miss. (WLBT) – Construction is officially underway at the Ross R Barnett Reservoir for a brand new boat ramp to replace the Rankin Ramp near Shaggy’s on the Rez as well as a new office for the Pearl River Valley Water Supply District. It will replace their current building, which is around 75 years old.

The brand-new boat ramp will be a six-boat ramp and is expected to be completed in May of this year.

The Rankin Ramp will remain open until the new ramp is complete.

The new office for the Pearl River Valley Water Supply District will be at Bobby Cleveland Park and is expected to be completed around the Spring of 2026.

This is all made possible after the Water Supply District received various grants and appropriations from the Legislature.
