TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – More than $12,000 was spent on a trip to send a couple of Toledo City Council members and a staffer to Italy.
The I-TEAM getting answers to why they went and what exactly it all cost. Council members have a budget for things like professional development. This one, though, took them a long way from Toledo.
The Oct. 2 Toledo City Council agenda review meeting was a little low on attendance. Only seven of the 12 members showed up. That’s in part because council members Adam Martinez, Cerssandra McPherson and Vanice Williams were in Italy.
“I was asked to go over as a representative for our sister city Ferrera,” said McPherson. All three council members and a legislative aide visiting one of Toledo’s sister cities Ferrara Italy.
