COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – A Colorado Springs family lost their beloved dog.
A puppy didn’t have a family.
This holiday season, they got what they wanted most: each other.
On a rainy October day, a construction worker came upon a heartbreaking sight: a tiny Chihuahua-mix puppy, soaking wet and shivering at a dumpster.
“He was discovered on the north side of town, whimpering by a dumpster at a work site,” said Jay Julian, professional development program manager at the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region (HSPPR). “He was so tired and wet and rained on.”
No mother, no siblings — at just 11 weeks old, the puppy was all alone.
“I think that was just the most horrible thing I’ve ever heard,”
The worker scooped the puppy up and immediately drove him across town to the humane society. And as it would happen — the pup wasn’t the only one rescued that day.
