Homewood restaurant closing as owners shift focus to Lane Parke eatery [Video]

A West Homewood restaurant that returned after a four-year hiatus is closing so its owners can concentrate on their other eatery.

Aimee and Jorge Castro announced through social media that Cantina Tortilla Grill is closing.

“In life and business there are things that are meant to be and others that are not,” their statement reads.

“Unfortunately, we do not believe Cantina West Homewood is meant to be at this time and place. We are very disappointed but believe it is God’s plan for us to concentrate our time and energy on our family and pouring into our other restaurant, Sol Y Luna.

“We are so grateful for our employees, customers, friends and family for their unwavering support. Please look for your Cantina favorites on our Sol Y Luna brunch and lunch menus. Remember to support local when you can!”

Jorge Castro revived Sol y Luna, which premiered in 2020 in the Lane Parke development in Mountain Brook Village.
