She’s sounding the alarm after discovering significant structural problems in her newly built home, raising questions about local building practices.
MORGANTON, N.C. — Katherine Graff moved into her brand-new house in the Saratoga Run development of Morganton in May 2023. Despite taking all the recommended precautions, including hiring a home inspector, Graff soon noticed troubling signs.
“Within about a month of moving in, I started finding carpenter ants,” Graff explained. “I have video of them coming in through the large gaps in the siding.”
“I started going into the crawl space and started looking around, kind of looking for the carpenter ants.
