Federal funding could provide financial education for Hispanic communities in Hartford region [Video]

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — New funding proposed by Sen. John Larson on Wednesday would provide financial education for low and moderate income Latino communities across the Hartford region.

The $650,000 in federal funding would create accessible programs and tools available to those groups.

“Today’s investment is another significant move from Congressman Larson to invest in the wellbeing of Hartford communities, and it provides an opportunity for Latinos and underresourced communities to join and share in the economic prosperity,” Ingrid Alvarez, vice president for policy & strategic engagement for the Hispanic Federation, said.

Local partners include the Village for Families and Children, Capitol Squash, International Hartford and Our Piece of the Pie.
