Gamification CAN be useful in some corporate training, but it is usually not necessary. Worse, what corporate trainers THINK is gamification (points, badges, and leaderboards) is actually about surveillance and coercion. True gamification is about the core elements of creativity, exploration, ambiguity, and surprise. PBL is about control. It is time to rethink our corporate learning strategies.
