Donated annex from MSSU helps New Heights Christian Academy grow [Video]

JOPLIN, Mo. — Just like that – it’s back to school, specifically at New Heights Christian Academy where the campus is changing.

“There were boxes in the hallway, there were bookshelves in the hallway, and we’re still putting things together as we wire the building and get everything ready for the first week of school,” said Michelle Hamlin, New Hts. teacher.

It’s record enrollment this year – 636 – with some brand new classrooms to make space.

“I love it. It’s a beautiful space. I was surprised. I didn’t know what it would be like to be in a modular but when I came out and it was, it felt like a college classroom,” said Hamlin.

Which isn’t far off, since this classroom annex formerly housed science classes at Missouri Southern.

MSSU was ready to pass the annex on, donating it to New Heights.
