DICKSON, Okla. (KTEN) — Two major construction projects are in the works at Dickson Public Schools, amounting to around $9.5 million. The projects include constructing a brand new field house, as well as making renovations and expansions to the ag education building. Both projects will be funded by a bond package that was approved by taxpayers on April 2nd.
The new field house will have a new weight room, locker rooms for boys and girls teams, and an indoor wrestling facility. The ag education building will be getting a facelift as well, with new classrooms, and new tin siding. Superintendent Jamie Mitchell says that these projects have been a goal of his since he started as Dickson superintendent last year.
