Deaf polyglots: How this couple communicates in 6 languages without making a sound [Video]

After meeting online, deaf creators Mujde Hasimoglu and Ryan McGuire learned a shared sign language to communicate. Between them, the Ottawa couple now use six languages, all without their voice. They decided to showcase the beauty and diversity of sign languages in their short film, ‘The Voice in their Hands,’ produced in collaboration with CBC Ottawa’s Creator Network.

CBC Ottawa’s Creator Network is a place where young digital storytellers from diverse backgrounds can produce original video content to air on CBC and tell stories through their own lens.
