Dad Goes Viral with Response to Shoplifting Accusation (Exclusive) [Video]

Roy Weir found a business-savvy way to clear his name when one oversight led to a wrongful accusation by his kid’s school.

The Iowa parent took to social media to share why he spent “just under $1,000 to make a point” earlier this year, which included him purchasing, customizing and delivering drinkware for every on-staff administrator at his son’s school.

After chaperoning his 8-year-old son, Miles, on a school field trip to a museum, Weir received a phone call from the school principal inquiring about a possible shoplifting incident.

“One of the volunteers in the gift shop said that I left … with a mug without paying for a mug, and so the principal called me about this. I said, ‘Well I’m not rich but I got mug money. I didn’t take a mug,’ ” Weir recalled in his TikTok video, which received over 128,000 likes on the app.
