Chinese BYD Reaches an Important Sales Milestone in Hungary [Video]

BYD, the world’s leading manufacturer of new electric vehicles (NEVs), building a giant plant in Szeged and also includes plug-in hybrid vehicles in addition to electric ones, has reached a major milestone in Hungary: the Chinese company became the market leader in the pure electric vehicle (BEV, battery electric vehicle) segment in July, August and September.

The Asian company highlighted that it sold more than 1,000 BEVs between January and September 2024 and has been the number one in the competition among pure electric brands for the third consecutive month, reports Világgazdaság.

In September, BYD achieved a 22.7 percent market share of BEV passenger car sales in Hungary, with 176 new vehicle registrations.

Of the four electric models available in Hungary so far, the Atto 3 and the Seal are proving to be the best-selling models, with 369 and 265 units sold, respectively, followed closely by the Dolphin. The Seal U, a …
