CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A Northwest Side coffee shop is speaking up after it was targeted by burglars earlier this week.
Backlot Coffee, which is located on Avondale Avenue near Irving Park Road, took to social media after the burglary.
“We are sick and tired of this,” company officials wrote.
The cafe was one of five businesses broken into early Monday morning.
According to Chicago police, two men who were wearing dark clothing and face masks smashed out a glass door or window to gain access.
The suspects then targeted cash registers and office areas before fleeing in either a gray Volkswagen Jetta or gray Jeep Grand Cherokee.
Police have issued a warning to business owners in the area, who were also encouraged to ensure that their surveillance cameras are functional.
So far, no arrests have been made.
