The Albion Hotel is all boarded up for winter.
The 145-year-old structure has a temporary roof after its historic roof came crashing down following heavy snowfall and then rain on December 8, 2024.
New roof trusses have been ordered, and it’s anticipated that the Albion Hotel will have a brand-new permanent roof by the end of January or early February.
That’s a far cry from the morning of December 8, when hotel owner Jeff Graham was told his building, and business would almost certainly have to be demolished after the roof collapse.
However, engineering walk throughs and inspections determined the structure, originally built in the late 1840’s, was structurally sound and could be saved.
Graham vows to rebuild the Albion to its previous glory.
In the meantime, patrons of the famous hotel and restaurant have raised $83,925, to help the 27 staff members make it through the winter after being left jobless by the Albion’s roof collapse.
