The Arkansas Farm to School Institute opens applications for the 2025-2026 school year.
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — The Arkansas Department of Agriculture announced their open application period for a year-long professional development program intended to help schools build their farm to school initiatives through training, resources, and hands-on support.
The year-long professional development program at the Arkansas Farm to School Institute encourages schools who aim to expand local food procurement, create school gardens, and integrate agricultural education into their curriculum to apply by Feb. 28, 2025.
The Institute will choose up to 15 schools to participate in the 2025-2026 school year. Each chosen school will receive a summer retreat dedicated to developing a collaborative action plan, a $1,000 implementation grant, and continuous support from Department staff and coaches.
