AllSaints founder blasts ‘ridiculous’ Shein float that ‘shouldn’t be allowed’ [Video]

The founder of AllSaints has blasted Shein’s planned £50bn London float as “ridiculous”, writes Emily Hawkins.

Stuart Trevor, who set up the leather jacket maker in 1994, is the latest in British fashion to criticise the controversial Chinese giant’s plans.

In a broadside shared on social media, the fashion designer dubbed the retailer “fraudsters” who were “making as much noise as possible”.

Trevor said Shein were “desperately trying to make out as if they have some sort of respectable business practice in the hope that the British Government are stupid enough to allow their stock market listing to go through”.

A listing was “absolutely ridiculous and cannot be allowed”, he added.

Trevor was responding to reports that Shein has accused its Chinese rival Temu of running a “fraud marketplace”.

Alongside his co-founder Kait Bolongaro, Trevor sold his shares in AllSaints in 2006.
