A huge gut punch: TikTok creators sound off after court upholds social media ban [Video]

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) -A ban is set for Sunday for a popular social media app, TikTok. The decision has content creators sounding off after the Supreme Court’s unanimous decision to uphold a law that forces the app owners to sever ties with its Chinese parent company or be blocked in the U.S.

App stores will no longer offer the platform to new users after Friday, the Supreme Court ruled to uphold the ban.

That means it could have a life-changing effect on over 170 million TikTok users in the U.S., including TikTok influencer Spacebaby13.

The content creator with over 600,000 followers joined the app last year, showcasing his life journey from Memphis to Thailand.

“The app, it kind of like lets you be yourself, and it’s okay with expressing yourself,” said Martavius Tucker, Tiktok Content Creator (Spacebaby13)
