New Orleans restaurants brace for possible TikTok ban [Video]

NEW ORLEANS — Millions of social media users are bracing for what they feel is impending doom—a decision from the US Supreme Court that could ban TikTok. But it’s not just regular scrollers who are upset; local businesses are, too. Many in New Orleans have gone viral several times.

“It like tripled our business,” Raneka Kitts, co-owner of B Spot, said of the first time someone’s video of her restaurant went viral. 

Just like B Spot, Jamaican Jerk House has gone viral several times—many from local and even national TikTok food critics. The owner of Jamaican Jerk House, Jackie Diaz, said that the social media app changed her life.
