Multiple Portland-area bakeries burglarized; suspect caught on camera [Video]

PORTLAND, Ore. — A series of burglaries targeting Portland-area bakeries and shops has sparked community outrage and social media support for affected business owners.

Surveillance footage suggests at least three bakery break-ins along Northeast Sandy Boulevard are connected to the same suspect. Dream Cakes became the second target early Sunday when a burglar, seen arriving in a small blue car, stole an iPad from the premises.

“I don’t keep much in the shop since we only take pre-orders,” said Dream Cakes owner Johannah Zuniga. Nearby businesses Doe Donuts and Ice Cream on Northeast Sandy Boulevard and The Pie Spot on Northeast 24th Avenue were also targeted, reportedly by the same individual.
