NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – The Nashville Fire Department is getting a brand new hub and fire station.
Metro Nashville announced Tuesday that design work has begun on the new fire department headquarters and fire station #2.
NFD’s headquarters are currently located at multiple facilities.
Temporarily, headquarters will be moving into the Bridgestone Building at Global Mall on Hickory Hollow Parkway in Antioch as the city works to build a new and permanent home for NFD.
“The Nashville Fire Department is excited to announce our temporary relocation to the Global Mall at Hickory Hollow Parkway,” Fire Department Director Chief William Swann said in a statement Tuesday. “Thanks to the support of multiple mayoral administrations, we have been able to expand our services to meet the growing needs of our community.”
Swann said the growth has increased demand on both their Fire Marshall’s Office for inspections and administrative staff.
