The Electricity Company of Ghana Limited (ECG) has urged its customers using Nuri Prepayment Meters to buy at least a month’s worth of credit.
In a statement shared on social media on Saturday, November 23, 2024, the company explained that this is necessary because of a scheduled system upgrade of the meters.
It indicated that the upgrade is likely to cause vending disruptions that would make it impossible for customers to purchase credit in the course of the upgrade.
“The Electricity Company of Ghana Limited wishes to inform our cherished customers using the Nuri Prepayment Meters that, as part of the Standard Transfer Specifications (STS) protocol, it has become urgent to upgrade all STS metering systems, including the NURI Prepayment system.
“Please buy enough top-up credit that will last for at least one month in order not to experience vending disruptions that might arise out of the ongoing Nuri meter …
