I don’t think of Siouxland as a haven of overt personal incivility. I can count on one hand the number of times someone has laid on the horn when it has taken me more than two seconds to move when the light turns green.
We are Iowa nice to one another in our personal and business relationships. But not as nice to one another on social media as we could be. There’s something about the semi-anonymity of these pages that seems to allow us to let it all hang out.
And there is another sphere where we seem to be deviating from Iowa niceness, and that is politics. Even there, I am seeing some changes, both for the better and worse.
