BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) – The Better Business Bureau is warning that scammers are trying to trick you out of money when you think you’re locked out of your social media account.
Carl Bates is the President and CEO of Central and South Alabama. Bates said the BBB has seen multiple reports of a scam tricking people out of their money by promising they can recover social media accounts, but that ends up not being the case.
Bates said scammers want you to think they are a reputable third-party company but, in the end, you get an empty promise and lose your money.
