James Martin Shearer, 48, started communicating with someone claiming to be a teenage girl. When he tried to meet her, he actually met San Antonio police officers.
SAN ANTONIO — A San Antonio man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison after attempting to meet a 15-year-old girl for sex in 2023.
According to court documents, 48-year-old James Martin Shearer started communicating with a social media user claiming to be a teenage girl. Shearer then asked the girl for her address and a photo of herself, saying he wanted to take her for a ride in his car.
Shearer continued to text her the next day, asking when they could meet, to which the minor agreed to skip school the next day for the meetup. Shearer then turned the conversation sexual, telling the girl that her age of 15 “excited him.”
