Grants are vetted by a committee of employees at each station, including the station general manager, and approved by the TEGNA Foundation Board of Directors.
IOWA, USA — The TEGNA Foundation, TEGNA’s charitable foundation, has two rounds of their Community Grant program every year. During this latest round, Local 5, CW Iowa 23 and the TEGNA Foundation awarded $8,000 to support a variety of community initiatives.
The awarded organizations are:
- Children and Family Urban Movement — $4,000
- “We partner with many other area nonprofits and resettlement organizations to ensure that families who come to our community are provided with services in both the critical entry period, and also in the long-term.”
- Urbandale Education Foundation — $2,000
- “The Making a Difference Grant program has multiple objectives to enhance and ‘bring learning to life’ for the students in the Urbandale Community School District.
